Keyword: plastic cup molding process
Plastic cups can be produced using different manufacturing methods. The two most common processes are injection molding and thermoforming.

Injection Molding
Injection molding involves injecting melted plastic into a mold cavity.
This method is often used for:
- Thick plastic containers
- Complex shapes
- Small plastic components
However, injection molding usually results in higher material consumption and production cost for disposable cups.

Thermoforming
Thermoforming is the most common method for PET plastic cups.
In this process:
- Plastic sheets are heated
- The sheets are shaped using molds
- Excess material is trimmed

Thermoforming provides:
- High production efficiency
- Consistent cup thickness
- Lower material waste
For large-volume beverage packaging, thermoforming is typically the preferred manufacturing method.
